Surprise in the Woods
Quote de jour
"The road of life can only reveal itself as it is traveled, each turn in the road reveals a surprise."
When I experience anxiety, I try to breathe, say a mantra but sometimes it doesn't work. It was one of those times last week. The best remedy for me then, is a solitary walk in the woods. Nature heals and grounds me better than well, most anything. I found myself decompressing with every step on the soft, leaf covered path. Late afternoon light streamed through the trees and I could breathe in peace again.
In a moment of profound gratitiude, I stopped dead in my tracks, I noticed a boulder with some writing carved into it.
God is faithful..merciful. The funny thing was, I doubt that I would have even noticed it in my agitated state earlier. I probably would have cursed some blasphemous words. But at this moment, I felt a profound joy at the serendipity and snapped a series of photos of the rock from every angle. This one was not by any means my best or favorite shot but included it for the surprise. Hidden in the upper left corner is another boulder with an inscription. I hadn't noticed it until I cropped this particular photo. Maybe I wasn't suposed to see it until now. I'm off to see it now and will report my findings.

I needed that reminder myself today.
I'm glad you noticed it.
