I know, I know salad season is over, but there will be plenty of time for hearty soups and stews. Today is the last day before the temperature takes a nosedive, so I thought why not a petite salade Nicoise to remind of me sunny, warm days in the South of France. That's the beauty of cooking: within a few minutes our kitchens can transform into other countries. Here's quelque chose from mine.

This looks delicious and Nice is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. It is getting to be time for hot and hearty comfort food, but if a salad like this can make me escape to Nice, I'll make one.
