Instant Stress Relief

Quote de jour
"I stroll along serenely, with my eyes, my shoes, my rage, forgetting everything.'
                                                                                                              ~Pablo Neruda

Feeling stressed lately? The brain reacts the same way to stress whether it is real or imagined. That's why worrying or imagining bad things adds to stress. Thankfully, the brain also reacts in a positive way to imagined peaceful situations, the same way as the real thing. Here's an instant peaceful place. Take a walk at Rockefeller State Park like I did last week. Imagine a sunny day, not to warm, not too cool. The air smells fresh and woodsy. Take a deep breath. Breathe in the relaxation. There are Canada geese and ducks making their way down south, cattle grazing, a young poet dreaming of Thoreau. Feel the embrace of grandmother pine tree. The path is soft earth beneath your feet. The leaves are turning a kaleidescope of colors and all is well.

Feel better? feel free to forward this to anyone who might need some instant stress relief.
