Cat Saturday-- Lucky # 13 -- Double the Pleasure

Quote de Jour
"One cat just leads to another."

~Enest Hemingway

Welcome to another Cat Saturday where every Saturday is devoted to all things feline. Cat lovers know the pleasures of owning a cat. But I say, double your pleasure with two. Some would say three is the magic number, and others declare four or more.
In the spirit of the more is merrier, this week we will name two cats, as CATS OF THE WEEK.

Brotherly love with Cheddar and Mao ~ CATS OF THE WEEK~

Cheddar, a sweet 6-year-old ginger and white tabby is a whopping 17 pounds of love. His sometimes loving, sometimes bully-of-a-brother is Mao, a dashing tuxedo kitty. He is also 6-years old and weighing 15 pounds. Mao's real name is Magic, named after the Harry Potter-like zigzag on his paw. He chose the name Mao because it means Cat in Mandarin and he says, MAO, MAO, MAO, like a true dictator. Both boys were adopted at a shelter. http://www.secondchanceanimals.org All shelters are busting at the seams. if you are thinking of adopting one, then why not two or...

It's been a busy week for my cats. Merlin, discovered this dead squirrel, killed no doubt by my feral outdoor kitty, Domino. Merlin sniffed and circled around the squirrel with an unusual reverence, gently sniffing and licking but avoiding the head and wound.
I'm shocked at Domino's hunting skills, given that I feed him three times a day and that he's as big as a husky.

Domino has a warm new nest on the porch, but likes to snooze on warmer days on the swing behind the barn, when not hunting.

For us indoors creatures, the cold weather means flannel sheets and breakfast in bed with the New York Times. What a life!

Thank you for Featuring our two boys. They have abandoned my bed for the warmer upstairs attic room. Cheddar also chews his stomach fur, which I think is because Mao is dominant in everything. Cheddar is a scaredy cat, though beautiful and delightfully squeaky, but he hides whenever the door bell rings. When I come home, he runs down the stairs and kisses me, asking 'where have you been?'Mao just wants me to service him. All the freaking time.We had a feral cat who killed a chipmunk a day for a year, then she met her end on the road. Once feral, always feral. Your Merlin and Coco are so beautiful.

I had another cat who would eat my tuna sandwiches when I left the room.Mao has eaten my daughter's chicken with hot sauce.
We feed them baby food, so they adore our food. Mao has actually tried to climb into the fridge.Mao cat food, baby food, water, lettuce, pet grass, catnip, luncheon meat, people food, hot sauce. Cheddar just eats cat food, baby food and luncheon meat. But plenty of it.
