Full Moon Blues
Quote de jour

Every moon phase brings Her beauty and Her gifts. As we inched towards the full moon last night, I could feel the pressure lifting
from my head the moment we'd reached the peak. The non-stop rain for two days. The non-stop migraine. Connections all around. When we are faced with pain; physical or psychological, there is a tendency to want to flee or avoid the pain. Pop a pill, zone out, anything but face the truth. In Buddhism, it's called the dukkha, the sense of unsatisfactoriness of experience, or pain. It's painful to realize the pain of trying to avoid pain. What to do? Accept with loving compassion.
I know from many years experience, when a pill will work or won't. This time there was nothing to do but surrender. I know the pain will end. It always does, eventually. It's already shifted as I write this. Everything is transitory. How could it not be? All we have to do is look at the moon, changing every minute, month after month, year after year. Accepting with compassion of 'what is' creates an opening and a clarity.
If you are in pain, direct loving compassion to yourself. Silently send to your heart with intention, these words of prayer or meditation:
May I have compassion for my pain.
May my pain be eased.
May I be at peace with what is.
Repeat as needed
To send the loving compassion to others, change the wording.
May X or all beings have compassion for their pain.
May the pain of X or all beings be eased.
May X or all beings be at peace with what is.
