Cat Saturday - # 15 -- Holiday Season of Love & Light

Quote de jour
"Cats are smart. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow."

Every Saturday, this blog goes to the dogs, I mean the cats. It's all about the cats: your cats, my cats, homeless cats and helpful links. Normally, we feature one Cat of The Week but 'tis the season to be generous, so we have a special holiday...

 Cats of the Week

These are but a few of the lucky strays and/or shelter cats who found forever homes. So many cats, so little time. My apologies if your cat wasn't featured here. In the spirit of the season, I'd like to extend extra love and light to all cat lovers everywhere. May your hearts and homes be filled with purring. Please take extra care with seasonal hazards and your pets. Poisettias are toxic if eaten, glass ornaments can break, many decorations contain lead, candles burn whiskers... you get the idea.

All the cats in this collage have heartwarming storie, but time permits to focus on only one. I'd like to tell you about the tabby named Jasper. It's hard to believe this self-assured and handsome boy was once, anything but.  When his mom Julie, adopted him from the Stone County Humane Society, in Arkansas http://www.humsoc.tripod.com this scrawny kitty had been shaved because of a severe flea infestation and suffered from a broken tooth. He's three and half-years-old now and a happy, loving sweetheart. Might there be a special kitty waiting for you at http://www.animalshelter.org?
I had visions of doing a holiday photo shoot with my cats, but I haven't mastered the art of being in two places at once. Time is the enemy but here's some old, cat magic from Merlin and Coco.

See you tomorrow for more holiday love & light !

Jasper is a beautiful kitty, as they all are. And he has one of my favorite Wyoming names.

I wonder who all these kitties own? Samhain..a druidic cat.

Merlin and Coco, so Thai=ish in all their Siamic delights.

    Buster and Chuckie, great boys!

Tabbies are supposed to be the most affectionate of all. That was true of our Emma Peel, a brownish with green eyes exotic short hair, a rescue in Chicago. She was a gift for my 21st birthday from my boyfriend.

My kids remember her. She lived to 20.
    Who woulda thunk?

Our orange boy is so affectionate, too.

He and his bro Mao appreciate the recent feature.

I forgot to say, too, that of Tux's, that they usually choose ONE family member and are devoted to that one.

    That would be my daughter.

Layla- Glad you got a chuckle out of Fire in the Hemp Fields.
Those are great pix of Merlin freezing his Magnificent little paws in the snow.
    How is Domino doing?
Sleepy Sammy is so cute, and I love Sambo and Buster has such soulful eyes. A luck litle bunch. Keep up the good work.
    Seizure next week. OXOX-- Mugg
