Seeing Red on Hanukkah

Welcome to my holiday merry-go-round. Yesterday was Yule, today is the first night of Hanukkah and I'm dizzy from too much sugar.
What's a girl to do? I had to do a taste test before packing them up as gifts, right?
More Hanukkah photos later in the week. This one was taken in the lobby of my therapist's office. I like the juxtaposition of the Christmasy poinsettias next to the menorah. (Can't we just all get along?)
The week before, as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw red. I jumped out in shock. Some of the biggest poinsettias (I swear they'd taken steroids) had turned the hallway into a red jungle. I made a comment to my therapist. He agreed that they were a bit much. The following week they'd found a new home in the lobby. We're all happier. I think.

I love pointsettias and menorahs. We finally bought Pointsettias last year after hearing they will not kill the cats. Both cats ate it and survived.

While poinsettias aren't fatal if ingested thanks to new hybrids, the sap remains an irritant. I've always had them around cats but out of reach.

Well, if they should eat them, I wouldn't worry. Our Mao eats ribbon and tries to eat fake flowers, too, but fortunately, he gives up on the fake flowers, and the ribbon does make him throw up.
