The Audacity of Hope

Quote de jour
"We've been warned about offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope."                                                                                                                                                        ~Barack Obama

The JFK quote could be interpreted in a number of ways. I won't comment on it, but I will comment on the photograph of St. Matthew's Church in Hastings-on Hudson N.Y. As soon as I saw the new scaffolding, my camera came out. I loved the juxtaposition of the old and the veiled promise of something new. Seven years ago, a few weeks before 9/11, I moved to the U.S. from Canada as an apolitical. I had many passions, but politics wasn't among them. Seven years of living with the Bush administration changed that. Like most the inhabitants of this country, I'm hungry for change and filled with hope. I believe hope is choice and once you decide and believe, anything is possible.

It truly is a historic time, where all things are possible. Radical change is in the air indeed, I too am very hopeful...

Very wise words Layla. I think that today is a new beginning. I have read both of Obama's books, in fact he signed them when we went to hear him speak in Santa Fe last year. I think a cloud has lifted and the sun has come out once again for Americans.
