This is for my mom today, who at 83 is still a spring chicken. The quickest way I know how to fast forward into spring is with fresh flowers. Having fresh flowers in your home or office is an instant blast of spring. The other day, I was at an artist's studio. Every surface was covered with compelling art, but what my eyes zeroed in on were these live hydrangeas. I soaked up every little molecule of their green energy and consigning it to memory.

Thanks Ruth and yes, you can quote me. There are so many amazing older women who in our society are marginalized, expected to fade away. I hope baby boomers will change that because we are next in line
