Dead of Winter or Spring Preview?
Quote de jour
It's groundhog day. Punxsutaney Phil, famed groundhog and weather prognosticator saw his shadow. That means six more weeks of winter if you believe in that kind of thing. I'd rather believe in what I see and feel. The sun feels warmer on my face, the magnolia tree is already fuzzy with buds. I can sense the quickening within the trees and under my feet, even below the snow, there is a percolating of new life. Crocus bulbs are getting ready to burst into color. It's a time to harness the extra surge of energy for creative pursuits. Christians call today Candlemas, a festival of lights. It's originally the Pagan holiday Imbolc, the time to honor Brigid, the triple Goddess of fire, inspiration, healing and poetry. Some might call it the dead of winter, I'd rather call it a Spring pre-view.

The perfect film to see today. Life has a funny way of repeating itself. Same lessons over and over, until we get it.

Now you have me hooked on the movie. I will have to get it from Netflix...
Warm and sunny here, hard to believe more WHITE stuff tomorrow.
I really wish that groundhog would just STAY in the ground. Though he is cute.
And your photos are all so incredible...

What a wonderful preview, Layla. I've watched this and loved every moment of that film. It has been a while now. Should watch it again, soon!

Layla: Yes here it is, another very cold day in Toronto, and yet the sun is strong, rising earlier and setting latter. That in my books is the coming of spring. I bought some pink tulips, and will start to force grow my tulip bulbs in my basement, this week. I too feel the new energy. Love the cat photos, and love your latest blog entries, from mushrooms to feng shui. It's like astral mind reading, or chatting with an old friend, one who continues to inspire me, with her boundless, creative energy. Now if we could only bottle that and sell it, as the old saying goes...hmmm.
