Cat Saturday # 24 - Rescue Me Meow!

Quote de jour
"When I played in the sandbox the cat kept covering me up."
                                                                  ~Rodney Dangerfield

Welcome to Cat Saturday. We are seeking submissions and suggestions for Cat Art of the Week, Cat Link of the Week and Cat of the Week.  Every cat is special, but some cats has a certain je ne sais quoi. Especially welcome are breeds we haven't featured yet, i.e. Persian, Himalayan, Scottish Fold, Cornish Rex and other Siamese.

Lulu is a stunning 4-year-old Abyssinian male with arresting green eyes. One look and you know he knows what you're thinking. He lives in Boston with his mom, Betty and dad,Marty. His mom claims Lulu has a Devilish nature but with those eyes, I suspect he gets away with murder. His breeder declared him "pet quality" versus "show quality" but he's winner to me.

CAT News and Mews
I'm happy to report Domino, my outdoor feral has returned, albeit bloodied and battle weary. For the past few days, he has arrived for breakfast and not dinner. I know when he disappears off the porch and his cozy nest, all is not well. I'm hoping he doesn't have an abscess. The sad truth is, feral cats have a shortened life expectancy of about three years. Domino, the scrappy survivor is about three-years old, and I estimate he's lived eight out of his nine lives. I managed to sneak in some antibiotics into his food today. This is how he looks now. Not a happy camper.

My Siamese cats, Merlin and Coco are fed up with winter, and are braving the elements to sunbathe on the porch. Yes, the sun is gaining in strength every day. May all cats everywhere feel the warm sun on their faces and be well.

Cat Link of the Week:

Okay, so they rescue dogs too, but these tattooed, biker dudes are the best! You gotta see these guys in action. To see a big guy with a tiny kitten is heart melting. Click here.

Cat ART of the Week
This is a character illustrated by moi for a children's book about a brainiac cat; Clarence Katz Ph.D, who happens to be a psychologist with no fashion sense, or any other sense for that matter. He learns that true wisdom lies in not labeling people or cats. It's # 389 on my list of projects that may or may not see the light of day.

Until next week... pet a cat and you'll both purr.

Aww, Domino, appreciates what you are doing for him, but the sad realities make me cry.Lulu is gorgeous. Our boys are up in the warm blankets in my daughter's warm bedroom, oblivious of all that could have befallen them, had they not been rescued.
And your Coco and Merlin are just gorgeous, as always. Love that cat art and the biker guys with big hearts.

I had to come over here and see about Domino. I'm glad Domino came back! Poor guy! I'm sure he appreciates your home base with a comfy place to curl up and plenty of yummy food.
