What Not To Do On Vacation

Note to self: Do not attempt to blog while on vacation. I know some people can blog while on acid trips and upside down on roller coasters, but not me. At least not on a 'girls' holiday. Friends or no friends, as soon as I get off the plane and see palm trees and feel warm humid air, my brain turns to the consistency of a frozen margarita. The first thing I do, before unpacking or having a margarita is pay homage to the the ocean. The oceanfront condo where I'm staying is within roaring distance. Trading my socks and shoes for sandals, I make my way down to the beach and sink my bare feet into the powdery sand. Bliss. I question my sanity for living in the land of snow and central heat. The warm, fresh, sea air strips off layers of stress.I adjust to my new climate in three seconds flat. I breathe in deeply and exhale all memories of winter. No matter how many times I've experienced this ritual of greeting the sea, it always feels new. The late afternoon light is fading. Hurry. The foamy surf laps around my feet and I'm home.

There will be a 'wild' version of Cat Saturday tomorrow and hopefully things will be back to normal by next week. Or, at least back to daily blogging.

Oh to be in the ocean, a warm ocean, what heaven. I have not been in a warm ocean in months, since last summer. And it was Cape Ann, not warm.

Such incredble photos, dear Layla, I hope you enjoyed your Margaritas after.

I think I will try a hot bubble bath tonight and just pretend.

    Just because.
