Life From Technicolor to Techno-Free
Photo quote de jour

I'm having a hard time adjusting from the technicolor landscapes of Florida to the grays of early spring in New York. Palm trees are iconic symbols of warm weather and holidays for me, but I suppose they aren't exactly exotic if you live amongst them all year round.
The first thing that hit me when I descended from the small jet onto the tarmac of Westchester County airport was the air. It's dry, coldness smacked me back to the cold realities of "real life". I missed the emerald green grass and lush foliage. At home, I scanned the garden. Bare branches waved their hello, while dried leaves and twiglets littered the ground. But wait, what were poking its brilliant heads from the dull earth?

With the new season, I'm brimming with new ideas like taking a weekly technology sabbath. I try to unplug as much as I can when I'm on vacation. To be honest, I didn't miss watching television or surfing the Internet. I thought what if... I did that once a week and had a real techno holiday? No e-mail, no cell phone, no TV and no blog. I skipped my blog yesterday and no one seemed to notice. I didn't return e-mails and the earth didn't swallow me up. No one is so important that they can't wait a measly 24 hours, right? So until further notice,Tuesday is my techno-free day. I'll let you know how the experiment goes.

Your photos are so welcome here, Layla, and they made my day.
So lovely, this lush green, but I envy the purple crocus;
I have seen NOTHING here. Not one sprout of anything. Only 3 sunny days in Spring even.

Not even crocuses or snow drops?

The crocuses are so brilliant....what a treat for the eyes.
Your techno holiday idea has my blessings, Layla. We all really need to unplug ourselves from all the 'noise' we surround ourselves with. I haven't tried it to the extremes of leaving my cell off as well....but maybe I'll also give it a try!
Happy times to you !
