Cat Saturday #38- Real Quotes From Real Cats

Quote de jour
This was bound to happen sooner or later.

New and mews
Elderly cats need extra supervision. Merlin fell down the stairs and twisted his front leg. He's limping, but I think he'll be okay. Coco is napping with him, and I've been doing Reiki (energy healing). If it's not one thing, it's another. His daily forays into the garden means more work for me. It's like having a toddler around. Merlin loves to sunbatheand his curiosity never wanes.

We have a local Cat of the Week, from Hastings-on-Hudson N.Y. Baby Kitty or just "Baby" is a pretty calico who is about nine-years-old. Born in New York City, she has a chequered past. No one knows where she was born or where she spent some time as a stray. Luckily someone rescued her, but they found she didn't suit their lifestyle. Declawing her didn't help, and her non-stop crying forced them to find her a new home. People like that have no business having cats, but that's another story. Lucky Baby found a permanent home north of the city in Westchester County 2003 with Sabine and Jorge, her human mom and dad, plus Jake, her solid black feline companion. They accepted her as she is, and eventually her crying was replaced with purring. She is an indoor cat, but enjoys the view from the many large windows in her house.

CAT ART OF THE WEEK
This tiny book (shown larger than actual size) has been sitting on my desk as inspiration for months. The whimsical art work is a painting by Derold Page. It occurred to me to Google him and I hit the feline jackpot as well as our link of the week. The utterly charming Web site is chock-a-block full of stunning cat art with most of the prints are available for purchase.

I was glad to hear Baby found a wonderful forever home. I can't stand people who treat animals like throwaway toys from McD's. I hope Merlin is much much better by now.
