Mandala Mondays -- What Goes Around Comes Around

Quote de jour
From the body of the unborn essence (Consciousness) arises the sphere of light, and from that sphere of light arises wisdom. From the wisdom arises the seed syllable and from the seed syllable arises the complete Mandala, the deity and the retinue.
                                                                                                                                   ~Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche

I'm seeing mandalas in all the flowers I've been photographing lately. The core or center of the flower is the seed center or soul. It is the perfect metaphor for the seat of our core or seat of the soul. Making mandalas is one way to find the true meaning of our lives on a deeper soul level.  If you don't want to draw one like the one below, you can focus on it as a tool for meditation. Don't be surprised if the shapes begin spinning, and the colors pulse in and out.  All mandalas draw one to it's core.

The next time you come across a flower, take a close look at it's core. Meditate on it and see if you can feel its soul. If nothing else, you will be calmer. This bearded iris invited me to fold back its petals to reveal the center. The colors in turn influenced the mandala. They reminded me of the robes Tibetan monks wear, which got me thinking about the Dalai Lama and the controversy of who will succeed him after he dies, and then about the circular nature of reincarnation, and what goes around comes around...
