Westchester Wednesdays --- Bridal Humor
Quote de jour
"By all means marry; if you get a good wife you'll be happy, if you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher."
~Socrates
It's June, and Westchester County is blooming with roses and brides. There are spectacular places to get married; from real castles, a bevy of historic mansions to top-notch restaurants. With so many decisions to make, weddings can make the sweetest girls into bridezillas. Keeping a sense of humor is a good idea. While visiting my favorite building of artist's studios in Dobb's Ferry N.Y., I saw from a distance a lovely large print of a bride. When I got closer, I smiled. Someone had had a Marcel Duchamp moment with a magic marker. Duchamp was the artist who famously painted a copy of the Mona Lisa with a mustache and goatee. I pulled out my camera and

wondered if the photographer, John Maggiotto knew someone had defaced his photograph. His studio was around the corner (literally), and is worth a visit for his painterly approach to fine art photography http://www.maggiotto.com/
With my camera handy, out of the blue, a little girl run past me in the corridor, and I captured the fleeting moment between childhood and marriage.
John is my choice for this week's Westchester Wednesdays for inspiring my lucky shot of the day. Thanks! And for anyone getting married soon, don't sweat the small stuff. Life is full of the unexpected. Keep that camera handy.
