Mandala Mondays -- Breakfast as sacred geometry?
Quote de jour

The sacred geometry of mandalas are found in most flowers, but what about dinner plates? If you scroll down to yesterday's blog entry, you'll see the cover of Gourmet magazine and a simply plated meal on a round china. It inspired me to look at my breakfast differently (see below). Do you slop food on your plate or take a moment to arrange the food in harmony? I guarantee it will taste better if it looks beautiful. Is it any wonder most plates are round? The circular form is the most amenable form to wholeness.

And finally, our mandala drawing of the week. You can tell I'm still enamored with daisies. The daisy at the center symbolizes the heart center. Even though my black-eyed Susans are blooming now, it felt too soon to draw them. When I was growing up in Canada, they didn't arrive until my birthday in late July. The daisies always came first. Here we are it's almost July. A friend e-mailed me today thinking it was my birthday this week. I had to laugh. Too soon, too soon! I'm not ready for the black-eyed Susans or my birthday.
