My guru, Amma AKA the "hugging saint" and powerhouse humanitarian from India is in town to give thousands hugs for free. These are no ordinary hugs but ones given with the unconditional love of a realized being. Imagine the best hug you received as a child and multiply it by a gazillion. That's the power of Amma. She says that she has no religion except love. Like all inspiring teachers she opens the door to awareness, but it's up to the individual to carry on with their own spiritual practices. Seeing her once or twice a year for me,is like a booster shot of love and spiritual insight to keep one on the path. It's not easy to be disciplined and meditate every day, but with Amma, the guru's guru is all you need.
Gotta run, I'm off to the city for my hug tonight.
