Bastille Day: Fountains to Fireworks

Quote de jour

It's Bastille Day or as it's known in France le 14 juillet, a kind of 4th of July national holiday with parades, fireworks and some serious partying. I'm mad for all things French and wish I were there. The Jews have an expression "next year in Jerusalem".  Francophiles like me, I guess can say "next year in Paris". Meanwhile, it's fountains, fountains everywhere I've been recently. I spotted the one above last week in White Plains. The one below was taken in Paris a few years ago. Theirs are better. Vive la France.

Here's a link to the festivities LIVE http://www.14juillet2009.com
The French do spectacular fireworks on this day in honor of the beginning of the French revolution. I can't imagine a more stunning backdrop than the Eiffel Tower for fireworks. This is older but still stunning. Enjoy!
