Cat Saturday # 43 -- Snakes and Naps and Cat Fights Oh My!
Quote de jour

When you're cat crazy like me, cats appear everywhere. I spotted this black beauty guarding her perch in Hastings-on Hudson N.Y. The quote is from the king of aphorisms, Marty Rubin who spins gold from his funny and adroit aphorisms at his blog http://www.aphorismscom.blogspot.com/
My boy Merlin has been hanging with his frenemy, feral kitty Domino. Merlin may look nonchalant, but the course of their bromance has proved rocky. Fur has been known to fly.

This round is a draw. The real winner this week is Comet, our CAT OF THE WEEK. He is a handsome tabby with white socks and is intrepid hunter. Like most cats he likes to play with his prey.

Comet is a local tabby boy who lives with his human family and lives up to his name. He truly is fast. In these photos he is intrigued by a snake which was removed before inflicting any lethal damage. According to Sav, his dad, "Comet was born in September 2006 in my son's friend's garage, when the mother, a stray wandered in an gave birth in a box. He will be three in September. We adopted him when he was about 2 months old. He is a very playful cat that likes to hunt us when inside. He will hide around a corner or under a bed and will pounce anyone that walks by. He knows enough to keep his claws retracted. Sometimes he jumps up, tags us and runs off to hide and ambush. He loves the outdoors and will catch what ever he can. I wish he would stop hunting birds. That's my only concern about letting him out. Sometimes he will bring a chipmunk to the lawn, drop it without harming it and start playing (mock hunting)."
I agree about the catching birds. I can handle headless mice, but a half dead bird fluttering in vain drives me batty. Thank goodness Merlin and Coco's huntings days are over.

Merlin's sister Coco is a diva and thinks she should be on everyone's screen.

Cheddar and Mao just told me, hands down, these are the MOST beautiful cats in the history of the universe.
I did not bribe them.
But I did feed them.
When cats are happy like these cats, all is well in the world.

I love all of your cat pics. Love the ones of the frenemies but the one of Coco on the screen with the cats staring at it is awesome.
