Mandala Mondays -- Life as a Bowl of Cherries
Quote de jour
"Life is just a bowl of cherries, don't take it serious, its mysterious. Life is just a bowl of cherries, so live and laugh and laugh at love, love a laugh, laugh and love."
~Bob Fosse
Where did the summer go? I'm holding tight, sucking the juices, the last dregs of the season with simple pleasures like dripping ice cream cones on bare feet, spitting watermelon seeds into the bushes, and enjoying nature's juiciest bounty; Bing cherries. I know I can buy them off season but nothing compares to them now, pits and all. They inspired this week's mandala. It's another exercise in the awareness of relationships between shapes and symbols, colors and textures, senses and emotions. The next time you bite into your favorite fruit, try to notice it with more awareness. What color is it outside versus inside, and the contrast between your skin or the color of the bowl of plate. What are the textures of skin and flesh with sensation touch with taste. Notice the tiny the dents or seeds in the fruit or how long the stems are. Enjoy. What you are doing is a meditation.

Scrumptious colors and words. A feast for the eyes. Thank-you!

Yum! I'm headed for the Farmer's Market right now.
Who said: "Cherries stay red even in winter." I think it was me.
