Butterfly Luck and Transformation

This is an old Irish saying and I hope it brings you luck today. The first thing I saw when I walked outside this morning was a butterfly like the one in the photograph. It danced around me and then settled down to drink deeply from rainwater lodged in a crevice of an exposed tree root. I felt like dancing too.
Having certain creatures cross our path(sometimes literally) has a deeper meaning for me.The butterfly is the only living organism capable of changing its entire genetic structure (DNA) from caterpillar to butterfly. According to native Indian philosophy or 'medicine', the butterfly represents transformation an evolution to a higher level of spiritual consciousness. Butterfly holds the power of air, which rules the mind. All of us are in a continual stage of transformation. The question is: which stage are you at?
The butterfly goes through five stages in the transformation process.
1) The egg stage marks the beginning of change.
2) The larvae stage represents the gooey DNA stage of creativity.
3) The cocoon stage represents the time to reflect inward and gestate the creative idea.
4) The transformation stage is breaking free of the cocoon, giving birth the something new.
5) The being stage is taking the new aspect of you to the next level by application and sharing.
When Butterfly flutters into your life; pay attention. It is telling you that you are ready to begin your transformation. It asks you to trust and embrace the process. Change can be scary because it means letting go of what no longer serves you. It takes courage to change but know that it will happen step-by-step. Follow the steps. There are no short cuts. Everything will happen in its own time.
If a butterfly has shown itself to you, know that transformation has already begun and is reminding you to take the next step in your transformation process.

Ooh this is one of my favorites of your blog posts, Layla.
It gets people thinking as to what stage they are in.
For years, I was in the coccoon stage, trying to get to the transformation stage, but finally, after about 100 years, I think I am in the
transformation stage burgeoning to the being stage.
And such a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful butterfly.
I am in awe of all those who take such gorgeous macros.
In a few weeks, I will buy a Cybershot (have been borrowing Daughter's), and will take photos, usually not Macros, but.......

I confess-I'm a fanatical butterfly watcher. A true voyeur. Butterflies are as delicate and elegant as flowers-and on top of it they fly!
