Spider Web Lessons
Quote de jour

Spiders play an important role in the myths and lore of many cultures around the world as the teacher of balance between the past and future. In India it's associated with Maya, the weaver of veils of illusion. To the Native Americans, Spider is Grandmother, the link to the past and future and how the past affects the future. "Spider woman" stories are part of creation myths with the spider web symbolizing the thread which connects all living things. It also weaves a connection between the material and spirit worlds.
If Spider and/or its web has crossed your path in reality or in a dream, it has a message for you. It calls us to notice how past choices may be affecting your future, so choose wisely. Use your creative gifts and weave your dreams into reality.

That's cool. How do you manage to find all these things and photograph them?

My eyes are always open LOL and usually have a camera with me but, sometimes the sighting are too brief to capture like the coyotes last week.

Hey, Layla!
Looks like the web of an orb spider -- if you have them back there!

Thanks Tinch! Yes, we do have them and the autumn is the best time to spot their webs.

What a coincidence. A spider parked itself on my left driver's mirror this morning with his web. When I got in the car, it or she was so terrified that it curled up into the mirror. I was going to take a photo, but a few minutes later, it thought better of the whole idea and decided to park somewhere else.
I am actually a bit afraid of them. But I think she was more afraid of me.
It is so interesting that spiders are associated with such rich mythology as you've painted here. I like those tales very much.
