Contemplating Freedom
Quote de jour

I'm not normally so political but here is a metaphor to good to pass. Seeing some of these flowers escape their confines while others pressed their delicate faces against a 'prison' fence gave me pause. Why do some of us poke our heads to freedom and others face brick walls or snarls of barbed wire? Many prisons are of our own making . I spoke to someone yesterday who felt like they were in a corner with no way out. I pointed out some options from a new perspective and gave shared some of my research, but she refused to see the way out. That was her choice. Having the freedom to make choices every day; no matter how small, making mistakes, exploring possibilities whether political, creative, social or spiritual is true freedom. What will you choose today?

Perhaps she is so isolated she is trapped in the prison of her mind.
We are social beings and must get out a lot.
Those are gorgeous flowers.

Yes, I'm enamored by these dahlias. The person in question is an over-extended mom out and about all the time. What moms like her need is more me time.
