Cat Saturday #53 -- Happy Kitty Birthday!
Quote de jour
Where do you get a cat a birthday present? From a cat-a-logue?
Sorry for the silliness. Merlin and Coco insisted on a Cat Saturday with no seriousness. They just turned 15 yesterday.
Coco stayed under the covers all day. Merlin went on a long walk with me and enjoyed an orgy of fresh grass. No, not that kind!

There was no birthday party this year but their feral friend Domino sent his regards. I suspect he was behind the anti-birthday sentiments. I remember to disdainful looks he gave Merlin and Coco in their shiny party hats. Balloons are only good for measuring claw sharpness. Domino was more interested in a new interloper on his porch, namely Peter the Possom...

News & mews
I spotted this thin, old kitty at the farm where I buy my veggies from. The cat was crying and of course I had to find out whether it was a stray. I tracked down the owner of the farm and he said with a disinterested wave of his hand, "We feed about a dozen." It's probably not the greatest situation but it could be worse. Here is the kitty holding her own with the owner's dog.
In a major arm-twisting coup, Merlin is named cat of the Week. As loyal as the most loyal dog, he's always been there for me. I was a bit migrainey yesterday and Merlin would not leave my side. In fact, he was glued to me all night. What can I say, he is persuasive and charming Libra. For you astrology buffs, there is astrology for cats at our Link of the Week http://www.ultrafoo.com

Wow Happy Birthday MEOWS to Coco and Merlin. They are doing great.
Domino, oh sweety, don't be jealous.
Loved the video.
Merlin is a price of kitties.
The cat art is great, too.
Wet day here. My boys are sleeping. Turns out I've been accused of ignoring them.
Mao will get on the keepboard and push keyboard help when he's lonely, but now Cheddar has taken to wanting me to pick him up when I am on the computer.
He is so affectionate it is creepy. Looks just so wrooong.

Happy Birthday, Coco and Merlin!
You're so generous to make a birthday wish that your mom's wonderful blog gets added to The Conscious Cat's blogroll - consider it done!
Hope you get to celebrate with tuna cake - maybe if you share some of that with Domino, he won't be so grouchy about the whole birthday thing...
