An Unexpected Harvest
Quote de jour

The winds of change blew long and hard last time. Every time it happens, our woodsy property gets covered in dead twigs, or worse. I ventured outside this morning expecting extra gardening toil and trouble. I groaned at the amount of branches strewn on the ground, waiting to be picked up. But wait, the wind doesn't choose what it blows down. We can choose whether or not to be happy with the results. I chose to be happy to get fresh air and exercise. The bonus? The wind unleashed unexpected harvest, a bumper crop of pine cones from Grandmother Pine. They make heavenly scented kindling, just in time for the season's first fire.

Love your homespun wisdom.

Picking up dead branches is a chore, I hope you have others to help you. So many people have 'yard guys.' I love looking at 'yard guys.'
The harvest, then the sleep, then the birth.
Beautiful photos, Layla.

I like the colors in your pine cone picture. I especially love the quote. My dad is 93 and is definitely in the harvest of his life. He is vibrant, excited about life and kept busy with so many many people coming to him to hear the wisdom of his years.
