Cat Saturday #56 -- What Cats Really Think About Us
Quote de jour
"In nine lifetimes, you'll never know as much about your cat as your cat knows about you."
Michel de Montaigne
Cat of the Week
Her Serene Highness Empress Lily, a delightful calico, rules from her throne in Hastings-on-Hudson. N.Y. Her view from her throne is the mighty Hudson River but she hails from humble roots in Asheville, North Carolina. Her human mom Jennifer, found her twelve and half years ago, feral but enterprising. Until then, Lily's only friend was a raccoon, but one day Jennifer left her door open, Lily invited herself in and never left. As a thank-you, she deposited four freshly killed rabbits and placed them on each of the four plates set out for a dinner party. Other thank-you gifts included a frog lovingly placed on Jennifer as she slumbered. In an ending fitting a fairy tale, Jennifer eventually brought Lily to New York to rule a new kingdom.
News & Mews
The pleasant fall weather this week has provoked much posing and prancing in the garden, well sort of. Coco refuses to venture outdoors anymore unless physically carried. She didn't budge from the spot I placed her. Senile or stunned from the summery weather, your guess is as good as mine. I carried her to a sunny spot, wild with weeds in the back and she perked up a bit but...
For an old girl she still has her moments, but between you and me, she's never been the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Meanwhile, her polar opposite and twin brother Merlin is enjoying a second kitten hood. He is chomping at the bit to get outside every day to sniff and survey every inch of his domain which includes our next door neighbors.

Merlin is beginning to resemble an old man. He has always been a cuddle bunny, but growing more vocally imperious and demanding. If there is a contest for king curmudgeon of cats, he'd win, hands down.

Outdoor feral Domino has never looked better in his domain. Shhh, don't tell Merlin, he thinks it's his.

Cat Link of the week
There's no denying it. We've all been there, done that. This is what cats think of us.

Maybe Coco has you wrapped around her little finger.
Ched sits on my sternum (All 17 pounds of him) and strokes my face with his paw if his food bowl is empty. Even if it is 2 a.m.
That video is very funny.Always love your cat art. The posters are great. Domino is the cutest patchwork quilt cat I've ever seen.
Merlin is da man. Lily is a bootiful empress.

Another wonderful edition of Cat Saturday! Empress Lily is gorgeous. Love the photos of Coco and Merlin - especially Merlin's "scary" photo. Domino is handsome as always - and what a devilish smile on the close up. No wonder Amber is smitten
