Happy Birthday To You

It's The Boomer Muse's best fan's birthday.  Happy birthday Kathryn! Kathryn is a writer in Boston who leaves comments just about everyday. We've never meet in person but I feel a kinship. I had planned to post a recipe for my favorite apple pie but got side tracked by rooting through a series watercolors I'd done, a gazillion years ago. They were to be a calender about a mouse family but I never completed it. Who knew the "October" apple picking scene would fit the bill today.

 In the spirit of art imitating life, here is my homage to the not so humble apple. These two-toned beauties are the Honeycrisp variety. They have the ideal mix of juicy crunch and sweetness for eating raw. If you never tasted this variety, bite into one soon. You'll love it.

    Watercolors are TOUGH! Never could do them.

    I have a 'big' day.

    Editing, running, doctor's appointment, student, then carrot cake at home tonight.

    Hubs and I will go to dinner on the weekend, when we have more time.

    I bought Oatmeal yesterday to make some kind of granola apple thing for all my left over apples. Think I will buy more apples this week...
