The Reality of Dreams

Quote de jour

I'm a journal junkie. Since childhood, I've kept diaries, travel journals, sketch books and random scribblings like the one above. This might call it a quote de jour within a quote de jour. What is reality anyway? Is it a sensory perception? A dream-like illusion? Does it exist because you can see, touch, hear or sense it? But what does something look like when no one is looking at it? Something to ponder into the weekend...

Everywhere I look, I see orange: pumpkins, gourds, fall mums and foliage. It's an odd mix of cheery and sad. It is after all the season
of decay. If you lean towards melancholy at times, you'll revel in the moody musings of 19th century poet, art critic and rogue-about-town Charles Baudelaire. Pour yourself a glass of absinthe and plunge beneath the dark cloak of his poetry at this labor of love site http://www.fleursdemal.org

Baudelaire was quite the poet. I love old books, and all things about old paper, sealing wax, pens, plumes, quills, but I never could keep a journal.

Your journal and your photograpy is always so beautiful.

Thanks for letting us peek into your journal. Baudelaire is a perfect choice during the Halloween season. Didn't he write a poem about vampires?
