What I'm Reading This Week-- Oct. 25, 2009 & Room With A View

Quote de jour
" A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counselors."

~ Charles Baudelaire

This is my maple tree at its peak. It's down hill from now on. The wind and rains have begun the gradual strip tease.

Every so often, it's a pleasure to re-read old writers. It's like visiting an old friend. What a treat to read the newly released Hemingway classic: A Moveable Feast in it's newly restored edition. In 1964, it was published posthumously and many sections of the original manuscript left out or changed. It makes this reader want to jump on plane to Paris tout de suite. Its mood and era pairs well with Hemingway's contemporary, F.Scott Fitzgerald collection of short stories.

The usual magazine mountain dwindled to a mole hole this week. C'est la vie.

What an absolutely gorgeous Maple. Looks like a sugar maple.

I love Baudelaire and must re-read him. Also must re-read Movable Feast.

I am going to take another nap, then run, print my manuscript (which is now so mangled), then do paperwork. DH tonight.

I probably sound like a bad mom, but I am really enjoying the kids away at college. I miss them, but I am loving the time with my husband, all to myself.
