What I'm Reading This Week-- Nov 15, 2009 & Room With A View
Quote de jour
"I teach something called The Law of Probabilities, which says the more things you try, the more likely one of them will work. The more books you read, the more likely one of them will have an answer to a question that could solve the major problems of your life.. make you wealthier, solve a health problem, whatever it might be."
~Jack Canfield
There's no denying it; the holiday season has arrived. Every magazine I read this week displayed red as a design element. Ho, ho, ho.

After a gloomy week of reading about one writer's stint at three mental hospitals, the eye-opening Voluntary Madness, I needed something lighter. Tad Friend, one of my favorite staff writers at the New Yorker has written a witty coming-of-age memoir titled; Cheerful Money about growing up in a privileged, albeit wacky Wasp family.

The big maple tree is bare and day by day the view to the street is revealed. I resent the growing lack of privacy the leaves offered. Window blinds or bare it all? Stay tuned.

I will definitely have to check out Friend's book. Right up my alley....
Now, as to the question about window blinds, you KNOW what I am going to say, based on what I am writing.......
PS I don't have blinds. The gutter cleaners were right in our window the other day. Good thing I was dressed.
