Lifting the Veil on a Foggy Mind

Photo Quote de Jour

As long as I can remember, I've loved fog and mist, when the sharp edges of reality blur. When things are obscured it can be sinister, scary or comforting, depending on your view at the time. Yesterday at dusk, I stopped working and looked outside the window. A magical fog covered the now bare branches in the garden, and I ran outside to capture its fleeting beauty. It reminded me of how the fog mirrors foggy states of mind in myself and others. It's during these times of foggy-headedness that we think we can't see through confusion, but the fog is thin and ephemeral. A poof of wind and it's gone. Insights and clarity are as easy to find as lifting the veil (taking action), or waiting for a poof of air to blow it away( passive approach). Either way, eventually the fog lifts. As I look outside the same window today, a bright sun shines on these same trees. I hardly recognize them.
