A Feast for the Soul

Photo Quote de Jour

It's sunny but cold today. I know my favorite park doesn't look like this at the moment but in my mind it does. And isn't that where everything is created? Yesterday, I created bleakness and drama. I plowed into a parked car by accident and it triggered a lava flow of tears. A friend said, "It's only metal. Both cars can be fixed."
Today, the damaged cars are still damaged, but my mood is brighter. Why? I chose to create something different. I said yes to joy and gratitude instead. Moment by moment, we choose how we're going to feel and that choice begins in our mind.

Thanks for this reminder (sorry it had to come at the expense of damage to your car!). I'm realizing that I've been creating stress for the last couple of days - there just never seems to be enough time to get everything done. I finally realized that if I don't change my thoughts about this, I'm headed towards a meltdown. So I'm working on redirecting my thoughts. Today is the first day this week when I'm not feeling like a hamster inside a treadmill. Why is it so easy to forget that we *can* control our thoughts, and thus, control our reality?

Everyone except (joke) the Dalai Lama needs reminders. It's why I do this blog.

That is true. I'm always amazed when I can actually control my mind and change how I feel. It's not easy and takes lots of practice.

    Happy Holidays!

Somebody said we have poetry so we can have roses in December. You just proved that he/she was telling the truth.
