Cat Saturday & Kitty Wisdom 101

Photo quote de jour

This would have been issue #64 of Cat Saturday but, I've decided to stop numbering them.

The holidays are done, whew! During the gap between now and the new year is a good time to think about goals while reflecting on the past year. The Boomer Muse blog has always maintained a life-affirming and upbeat message. In the coming year, it will will streamline that message into all aspects of the blog including Cat Saturday. This week's photo quote de jour and Kitty Wisdom 101 is inspired by Leo, a very talented tabby who could moonlight for Cirque de Soleil. If you have an inspirational cat who would like to be a part of Kitty Wisdom 101, please e-mail me http://info@laylamorganwilde.com

My cat Merlin has this to say about winter...

Our beautiful cat of the month hails from sunny California. As the end of the year is rapidly approaching, I think it's fitting to reflect on the cyclical nature of life. Early last year, I chose a Siamese cat named Ivan as Cat of the Week. Sadly, Ivan passed away in May 2009. Every pet person grieves in their own way. Some can't bear the thought of more loss and never adopt again. Some, open their hearts sooner or later and adopt again. With so many cats in desperate need of homes, I feel adopting again goes a long way towards mending a broken heart.  Ivan's bereaved family decided to adopt a kitten a few months ago. That kitten, a lynx point rag doll is Niko, and I think he makes a purrfect Cat of the Month. May you and your fabulous felines enjoy a fabulous NEW YEAR!

Wow, our Mao did something similar to Leo; he jumped on the highest bookshelv in one leap. I worried when daughter put little red balls on the top window ledges, because Mao could leap to the bookshelf, then walk over to the window ledges.

    Cats are really Gods.

That Niko is just the cutest. And so sad about Ivan.

Merlin is brave to go outside. Our cats have never touched down on snow. They are wikkit scerred. Besides, they've never been outside.

One week and my kids go back. It will be a day of transporting around the state - first to the Western part, then to the airport. I will be sad. Then I will be happy, for more time back. More time to exercise, sleep, write. But sad to see them grow up so fast. Seems like yesterday.

Oh, Layla, you did such a beautiful job on Niko's poster. Thank you so much! We are still missing Ivan all the time, but Niko is bringing us so much joy in his own way. He's a special guy that gets along with every person and every animal that he meets.

    I love Merlin's snow picture!

Give my regards to Merlin the Magnificent and Coco and tell Domino I said "Wise up dude! Go indoors."
