Today's Epiphany is...
Photo Quote de Jour

I love the word epiphany and it's many meanings. Today marks the religious holiday of Epiphany, but since I'm not catholic, I prefer the meaning of sudden insight, an aha moment. The beauty is, these insights come out of the blue and often from the simplest things. For me, photographing nature provides unexpected insights. Far down the Hudson River, the Manhattan skyline beckons, mirage-like but real. All our dreams and goals begin that way; fuzzy and myopic, but with patience and focused intent our vision sharpens until we manifest our goals.

Yes, today is Epiphany. I remember when the character in Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man had an Epiphany, and it just struck me so deeply. I went around searching for Epiphanic moments for years. Some did just happen.

Lovely photo of the Hudson, Layla! The nice thing about epiphanies is that they, too, like the mist, fade away.
