Cat Saturday & Kitty Wisdom 101- Hot & Cold

Photo Quote de Jour

Coco spends her time rotating between duvet covers, heated window sills and on a sun-drenched staircase. She is a master visualizer, seen here creating her new year resolutions.

Merlin and Coco ponder life's mysteries large and small on their favorite hot spot, the cushion on top of the radiator.
It's the coldest day so far this winter, Domino our outdoor feral (his choice not mine) is loving his new electric heating pad surrounded by cushions and a blanket on a sheltered porch. It's not ideal but it's as good as it gets. He is wary of any enclosed space, but many feral cats would appreciate a cozy nest away from harsh weather. This is an easy DIY project that would cost much less than ready made ones.

Domino was sunning himself this morning on the outdoor swing but jumped before I could snap a photo. He must be part malamute or husky because he doesn't mind the snow. The extra layer of fat doesn't hurt, but that said, no cat will prefer cold over a cozy warm spot. If you have old blankets or coats, think of donating them to your local shelter. All animal shelters need them. Check your local shelter website for what items are currently needed.

Domino gets my heart everytime. Something about his natural, unfluffed chubby and wild nature determined to make the best of it...that really pulls my heart.

Such an unspoiled and yet very well taken care of kitteh.

    Coco...such a beauty...Merlin....such a prince.

Our kitteh boys sleep with me on the down blanket then retreat to the attic with greater sun.

    Their wish is my command.

Cat lovers are my favorit peeps.

Love today's Kitty Wisdom 101 - I'm printing it out to put on the bulletin board over my desk!

I'm so glad to hear Domino accepted the heating pad. Now I must clean Amber's kitty drool off my keyboard - she's been staring at Domino's photo too long!

A heated kitty box.. what a wonderful and relatively simple project! I don't have any stray kitties around here, but I'll be passing it along to folks who do! Lovely post, Layla.. fun and functional, a great combo! Hope life has been treating you well and that you've been enjoying your holidays.
