Toot Your Own Horn?

We live in an ever expanding world of social media. We tweet and toot our horns about the minutia of our lives. News of jokes or tragedies travel in a blink of fiber optic. In the past few weeks, I've spend more time exploring Facebook, Tumblr, Digg, Technorati and (I thought I'd never go there)Twitter. It's a brave new world, and I've found the old adage in the photo above to be true. It's okay to toot your horn, but if someone does it for you, it goes farther. So, by all means forward this, re-tweet or Digg to your heart's content.
P.S. The sculpture is from my herb garden before and after the snowfall. In the media merry-go-round of life, the simple pleasures of nature remind me of what really matters.

Social media takes some time to get used to, but I've found it to be a great way to make new connections, nurture existing ones, and yes, get other to toot your horn. And it's fun!
