There must be a thousand different kinds of kisses. The Rumi poem speaks of spiritual love but could be construed as romantic. The sculpture by Rachel Mason looks passionate enough; until you find out the title: Kissing President Bush. It's the artist kissing Bush with tongue-in-cheek implications. I'd photographed it at an art show Democracy in America in 2008. The ceiling lights lent Bush a halo of sorts and the exit sign blinked its farewell. It goes to show you nothing, not even a simple kiss is ever what it seems. To view more of Rachel Mason's work http://www.rachelannmason.com
