What I'm Reading This Week -- February 14, 2010

Photo quote de jour

This was going to be a Valentine. I stuck cinnamon heart candies in the snow but the next day, they melted. I could have added a corny caption "You make me melt", but it looked bloody and better suited for a vampire.

If I can move beyond slothdom, I might make the decadent truffle recipe in Martha Stewart while contemplating the mind of John Mayer. With all the nutty things he's been spouting about his love life ;is he crazy or crazy like a fox?
You do not want to be a four-year old in New York City. Parents are in a frenzy to get their kids into decent schools and resort to tactics
 normally reserved the college-bound. Scary.

Do James "Mr. Avatar" Cameron and President Obama have something in common? Waxy Icarus wings perhaps? Just asking. Gossip is not my bag, but if you like juicy tales of royalty and celebrity dirt, then you'll love...

Aristo-Brit decorator Nicky Haslam's yummy memoir Redeeming Features.

By the looks of this battered library book, many have read You've Got to Read This Book!

The gap between science and body/mind healing keeps narrowing thanks to the mind-blowing work of psychiatrist Daniel Siegel.

These all look fab. So far, I am staying 'good' with healthy treats. But hubs usually buys chocolate. We didn't go out last night. I lay down on the couch to rest after my shower...and we will go dancing maybe next week.

"Words are alive; cut them and they bleed." - That's just awesome. This is definitely something that I could ponder on. The images are really striking. Good thing you didn't consider the first caption. =)

"With all the nutty things he's been spouting about his love life ;is he crazy or crazy like a fox?" - Fame + Fortune = Madness = Sparta! That's all I can say. lol

It appears that you've been digging through your stuff again. I must say, Obama's shot on the Time Magazine cover is absolutely the one that made me LMAO. Now What? HAHA!

    Belated happy Valentine's, Layla.
