Cat Saturday CATastrophe
Photo quote de jour
Domino the feral was very scared during the storm. He hid under the porch but adjusted to the new landscape after drying off.
The summery weather made for excellent sunning.
Domino wended his way through the fallen trees nonplussed. I can't say the same about Merlin. He insisted on exploring all the damage with undisguised shock.
Coco walked in circles.
I'm still wondering too but, boy that warm sun melted some tension. Now, to continue the gargantuan task of yardwork. Three sunbathing cats don't blink at my rake. It's settled: I'm coming back in my next life as a cat.

Nice to see the whole gang happy despite the destruction. Good luck with the clean up.

Those are huge trees that got blown down. But you kitties are helping out a lot. Good for you. I am sure you are keeping your mom from totally falling apart. And you are very pretty kitties too.

Thanks, we do our best to keep her sane.

Oh you have so so so much yardwork. I don't envy you. Cats can work for food, yes? Maybe... Or maybe not. Me thinks cats like lazy, not work.
Domino always gets my heart.

Yes, it's beyond crazy. Just doing what I can until the tree removal people come.

I love kitties and it is my general observation that they are the forgotten victims of bad weather. Thanks for keeping an eye on this one.
I'll be mentioning you on my blog.

I'm so relieved to see that the kitties all made it through the storm okay. Amber was worried about Domino, but deep down inside she knew her tough guy was going to be okay. We're adding today's kitty wisdom to her little wall of Domino photos above her favorite napping perch - she insists.
Poor Coco looks traumatized! Merlin just looks ticked off (assuming that's him in the last photo).
But oh my goodness, those trees - it's just so devastating, seeing these old beauties down. I hope it'll make it a little bit easier once you can have the tree people come and remove them, and then get used to your new view - but it'll probably still come as a shock for quite some time.
I'm glad today's sunshine helped heal a little bit. Wishing you more sunny days to heop with letting go and healing in the days ahead.

Ingrid, thanks, it's been eye-opening on many levels. Sadly, since posting this morning Domino was injured. He's limping and but is eating and grooming. Keep sending healing energy.

Layla-Wow, that's a lot of damage. Glad you and the cats are fundamentally okay. I hope everything becomes less chaotic real soon. You have a wonderful attitude but life can be pretty trying sometimes.

That tree is incredible. Good luck with the cleanup. Cats are good at watching and climbing. Hopefully they won't get stuck in this tree now. Great pics.
