Baby Boomers Blossom
Photo quote de jour

Blossoming is the most natural thing in the world, and yet why do so many people stay stuck in the bud stage? The # 1 reason is fear. Fear coupled with doubt will kill any dream. It doesn't help that when we turn older, we are more risk averse. And yet, the second half of our lives can be the most fulfilling. I'd like to think baby boomers like myself are trailblazing new paths as we reinvent ourselves at breakneck speed. It reminds me of a wonderful quote about blossoming by Agatha Christie.
"I have enjoyed greatly the second blooming that comes when you finish the life of the emotions and of personal relations; and suddenly find - at the age of fifty, say - that a whole new life has opened before you, filled with things you can think about, study, or read about...It is as if a fresh sap of ideas and thoughts was rising in you."
What hopes, ideas, dreams are rising in you? All week I've been taking extra care to study and photograph the intense blooming around me. As poet Rilke wrote,"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night." There no better time than now to take that trip, write that book, start a new anything, speak your truth. The flowers aren't waiting for permission to bloom. They don't make excuses. What are you waiting for?

First of all those blossoms are gorgeous. I love it when a bloom is in a tight little ball and then explodes.
I am not waiting for anything to blossom. I am in full bloom right now trying to help as many animals that I can and enjoying every minute of it. I am enjoying life to the fullest. Have a great week end.

Marg, it's so good to hear from someone in full bloom, living their passion which for you is helping animals in need.

Beautiful photos and thoughts about blooming. I found life after menopause SO refreshing. It's as if all those hormones clouded our seeing mind and made life more difficult. I don't give a rat's heiny about what anyone thinks anymore, so I can see much more clearly about everything.
