Mandala Mondays - Time to Kill?
Photo quote de jour

Where does the time go? How many times have you said that? There's never enough time except when you have time to kill. And with most people plugged in 24/7, is the expression "time to kill" even valid anymore? You'd think we'd get more done with all the new technology, but we waste more time than ever. Tweeting, Facebook, Farmville anyone?
The inspiration for this week's mandala comes from a sundial at a cemetery I photographed last week. It in turn sparked the lotus motif in my drawing. To the ancient Egyptians, the lotus was a symbol of rebirth. It closes in the evening and falls to the water and in the morning it opens and rises to the surface. Because of this rising and setting like the sun, it is also a symbol of death and rebirth. According to one creation myth, a giant lotus emerged from the watery chaos at the beginning of time with the sun at its center.
I have more to say but I just ran out of time... Guard your precious time with your life.

The cemetery pic was sober reminder to keep our priorities timely.
