Where Did June Go?
Photo quote de jour

I'm sort of back from a blogging break for the month of June. Holy macaroni, where did the time go? There is nothing better than the photo evidence from my garden (above) as proof. Did I accomplish much? Yes and no. Lots of creative work, oodles of photos, day trips and more face-to-face socializing versus virtual, more writing but not as much as I'd hoped. Links to my new and/or improved websites for writing, life coaching and intuitive consulting are in the sidebar.
One of my goals for the blog break was to determine how I'm wasting time on the Internet. Google Queen: guilty as charged, cute cats on Youtube, ditto. My only consolation is that I don't play any games on Facebook or tweet all day. On my deathbed, I doubt I'll say, "Gee, I wish I'd Googled more." That said, I guess I did accomplish a lot this month after all.
While we buzz around in all directions, it's easy to forget or minimize how much we accomplish every day. Maybe we can't run a marathon everyday but every step gets us closer to our goals. It's important to pause and acknowledge your accomplishments every day, even if just to stop and smell the roses. You better hurry, June is National Rose Month and it ends tomorrow.

Does smelling roses virtually via your photo count?

I was fortunate, earlier in the year, to have been given 3 new roses by a neighbor of my mother's... They weren't exactly "free", however -- I DID have to dig them up and, believe me, digging up 3 VERY mature rosebushes in 90-degree heat ain't no picnic ("good", you say? "no ants!"). I'm glad I did it, now, though, they recovered very quickly and are blooming to beat the band! (The "David Rose Band"? -- :^s -- sorry...)
;o)
luv,

Like you I have just returned from a cyber-vacation, or vacation from cyber-world. Ironically, the purpose of the vacation was to finally meet someone face-to-face that has been my on-line best friend the past 15 years. We rejoiced in each other for five wonderful days. Thank you for this delightful arrangement of thoughts and photos. It lifted my spirits from missing her. I hope you will visit "By Word of Mouse" in a few days, when I have had time to catch up on my blogging.

Layla-glad to see you back, though with your occasional posts, it never felt as if you were entirely gone. As for accomplishments, I always like what Heraclitus said: "Even sleepers are workers."

June has flown by this year. We've been looking forward to a nice relaxing July as our workload traditionally slows-down towards the school holidays. The plans have been scuppered however because we have a big, big order on the cards which means night shifts for 2 Months

Sounds like it was a good, and productive blogging holiday for you. Hard to believe that this year is half over. I'm looking forward to more regular updates for daily inspiration.
