Fireworks on the Hudson

Photo quote de jour

I love fireworks but I don’t love crowds. There was no way I was going to trek down to the city to watch big one. Even our local fireworks in Westchester get crowded so what's a girl to do? Get creative. My secret spot is at the end of this train platform at an undisclosed train station smack on the Hudson. There are views of various fireworks up and down the Hudson. They’re not as spectacular, but we only had to share the view with two others, and hey parking was free. There is always something to celebrate.

Wonderful idea! We watched the spectacular NYC display you saw on our TV while watching a nice local display out our living room window from our recliners. The ballpark across i-95 gives us this treat every Independence Day.

That was a brilliant idea. I just stayed home with the animals and hoped the neighbors wouldn't shoot any off. But they did a few and scared everyone but not for long which was good.
    Have a super week

This may have been your secret, but it's out now. Next year, I hope you don't have a crowd.

I watched Macy's and the Boston Pops' displays on the telly. L'Orange has its fireworks on the day before, and all I have to do is stand on the sidewalk in front of my house and see them. There are a couple trees in the way, but you can see around them. This year I lucked out, as they shifted the fireworks a bit to my left so the trees were not in the way. Also, none of my neighbors were out, so I didn't have to put up with firecrackers, etc. It was as peaceful as watching them on the telly!

Ingenious! What a lovely place to view the fireworks! Frankly, I don't like fireworks or crowds, can't stand the noise. So I just stay home.
