Hot Ideas
Photo quote de jour

For every blog post idea, I have dozens that don’t get chosen. Sometimes, I second guess and lament maybe I should have chosen idea #3 or # 23. Sometimes, a photo pops and the choice is easy. This moody shot from the 4th of July fireworks reminds me of a scene from Dante’s inferno and mirrors how I’m feeling today. New York is melting under a heat wave and silly me is leaving my leafy suburb to take the train into Grand Central today. Speaking of infernos, we’re talking a record fire and brimstone steamy, sunny 100 humid degrees today. I will happily melt into a puddle because I’m off to see my guru, Amma the “Hugging Saint” who is in town as part of her world tour. If she can give thousands of sacred hugs all night without food, water or breaks, I think I can endure a little heat. Amma.org

Hot. Yes, here, too. The quote from Buddha is most appropriate. I have been discussing related topics a lot lately, and practicing a lot of meditation techniques to quell my anxiety.
Good luck.

A steamy 100 here today as well. Loving it, because I thrive in this kind of weather. In spite of the heat, it sounds like you have an exciting day ahead. And yes: one step actually taken is worth all the ideas in one's head.

So did you endure the heat? We had similar weather...Mag and I spent last three days swimming in the pond...no tourists jaunts in this heat. But today I have to go into Boston for a funeral. Sure Boston will be an inferno.

Your guru has an interesting profile, if I might say. The moment I saw the words "The Hugging Saint" I knew she's a Bhakti yogi. Hope you had a great time. =)
