Dragonfly Dreams
Photo quote de jour

It’s not an accident that we chance upon certain members of the animal kingdom. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get this unusual shot and its subsequent teaching. Many Native and Shamanistic traditions honor their animal totems as spirits of their ancestors. Animals can mirror your subconscious belief systems and behavior patterns. At different times in your life, you may be drawn to certain animals, see them often or dream about them. If so, consider them to be messengers from Spirit and may be your animal totems. These totems offer guidance, wisdom and protection. Learn what the individual animal symbolizes and how it might apply to your life.

Love dragonflies! Does that mean it's my totem?

It could be, but our totems can also be animals we don't especially like. We have a number anyway; some stay our whole lives, some stay for specific time frame and purpose.

Your superb photo of a dragonfly has inspired me for some writing I will use at a later time.
Beautiful words.

Animals and flowers inspire me everyday. I would love to write an aphorism for every animal and flower that exists, but alas, I lack the time and probably the talent.

Wonderful information. No wonder the dragonfly is one of my favorite beings. It also seems appropriate for a Pisces to choose it as we are in constant flux and uniquely able to see things from many angles. My husband and I are both Pisces.

That makes good sense. Even though Pisces is ruled by water, they are airy in a dreamy way like the dragonfly.

This is informative for me as many insects and animals visit me. So I'll take it as all spirits visit and bless me including the kitties.
