Mandala Monday- Daisy Love
Photo de jour

I haven’t posted a Mandala Monday in awhile. For those of you new to them, Mandala means 'circle' Sanskrit, and mandala art refers to symbols that are drawn or painted within a circle. I’ve been drawing them for fifteen years and I consider each one that day's snapshot of the soul. I post examples here along with a photograph of mine that may have inspired the design. Some are loose sketches like today while some are intricate and detailed. Mandala art has been used throughout the world as a process of self-expression, for personal growth and spiritual transformation. I think of them as visual journal entries without words.
Tibetan Buddhism has employed mandalas for thousands of years in their healing rituals. Many native people use the Medicine Wheel and sand drawings, a mandala form to connect to earth energies and nature's wisdom. There is a central point within the mandala which is symbolic of the core within each of us to our heart center which is itself a source of energy and power. In this case, the sunny daisy center inspired the solar/lunar mandala center.

Awesome mandala and daisy pic. I'll never look at daisies the same way again.

Came across this Roethke quote recently which seems appropriate to your post today:
"At the center everything is near."
What do you think?

Beautiful mandala, Layla, simple which I love and using a real-life mandala that so many people are quick to dismiss! Thank you for a nice way to start off my week
