Macro Monday- The Heart's Desire
Photo quote de jour

It's new week, my birthday week actually and I’m in the mood to celebrate with a new feature called Macro Monday. Macros are photos, which zoom in on details, in this case, a ripe papaya. I love nothing more than a ripe papaya and normally slice it lengthwise to scoop out the caviar-like seeds. I’m always going on about thinking outside the box so why not do something different? I sliced the fruit at its equator instead and voila, a beautiful star emerged like magic. And it even resembled a mandala for Mandala Monday since I was too busy to draw one. One thing leads to another around here, and while meditating on the star mandala, I realized we all are beautiful stars at our core. They remain hidden until we learn how to reveal them. It begins with examining our heart’s desire. Every desire or secret wish is at our core. Think about all the wishes you’ve made before blowing out the candles on a birthday cake. It never takes long to figure it out.

What is your heart’s desire? Maybe it’s time to do something different. All it took for me was to slice fruit a different way. Sometimes, the smallest acts bear fruit. Have a fruitful week!

Zooming in on details certainly gives one a different perspective on things. In this case, a very heartfelt and inspiring one. And now I know what I'll post for today's aphorism.

At first swift glance, I saw a kitten popping through an orange circle. How did she do that, I wondered. After a closer inspection, I saw the kitten's ears, an eye, two legs coming out, and its back. Very interesting.

I was watching Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland last night and my response is, " Curiouser and curiouser. Nothing is as it seems."

What an interesting photo! I love papaya btw but don't really eat fresh unless I'm in Hawaii-- which doesn't happen often enough!
