Happiness is a Place Between Too Little and Too Much
Photo quote de jour

Please forgive this self-indulgent trip down memory lane which began with a recent birthday card. The card, sported a triple ice cream cone and the above quote, a Finnish proverb. I loved it, and given my Finnish roots, I just had to scour the Internet for more examples which I found by the boatload. These jewels will find their way into future photo quote de jours but in the meantime, I wanted to create my own version of the happiness quote with pastel summer colors except I hadn't taken any photos like that this summer, but wait, sitting in the middle of my office floor were bundles of old photos I'd been pawing through as memory prompts for a memoir I'm writing. The ice cream color of Caribbean cottages captured the simple happiness of that holiday, and seeing the super skinny version of me was just the motivation I needed to lose a few pounds. If I could find the balance between eating too little and too much, I'd not only be happy but a few pounds lighter.

We're often happy on vacation but what happens when we come back?

That's what photos and memories are for. The key is to take a positive result of the vacation and transpose it to your everyday life in a practical way.

Just to know the difference between "too much" and "too little" is a good consciousness. Look at your furbabies, somehow they seem to know how to do it, right? A late happy birthday to you, dear and may this year bring you wonderful magick, lots of purrrs and plenty of wonder.
Hugs to you.

Great photo of you, Layla! And how could sharing happiness ever be self-indulgent?

Wow. incredible photo. Eating is.... an art...I live on Gazpacho and strawberry smoothies, except when I don't.
Cardio burns calories like nothing doing. Sweat like your life depends on it. It does. So does your laundry.
Now for more sweaty cardio hard stuff in the basement. Dancing. To loud music.
This time with running shoes. More muscle power, more cardio, more muscle building, more fat burning.
Less wear and tear on the feet,

Well I am still sitting here. But leaving momentarily. Music is a great motivator, whatever music you like to move to. When we listen to music, we don't realize we are exercising as much as we are.
Good luck!@!@

Somehow you always post the right combination of quotes and photos when I need it. It's the perfect food for thought (pun intended) for me today.
