Freedom and 9/11
Photo quote de jour

The Statue of Liberty as seen through my zoom lens recently, is the closest I've seen her. As a tourist visiting from Canada I'd always meant to visit Lady Liberty but never did. Then, six weeks before 9/11, I moved to New York and got busy planning my wedding that October. Little did I know the move and the wedding would forever be sandwiched by the events of September 11th. Sometimes, when I forget how long I've been married (it happens!) the 9/11 anniversary reminds me. After 9/11, the Statue of Liberty remained closed to the public until last year. Her shining light beckons and I think it might be a fitting place for me to visit this year.
Those who know me well, know I'm not a political animal, but I believe in justice and freedom as an inalienable right for everyone and everything that breathes on this planet.
Peace.

That is a great picture of the Statue. That must have been really something to have your wedding so close to 9/11. I think a visit to the statue would be a good thing to do. Hope you have a super week end.

That really must have been something to have just moved to the city...and be getting married during all of that. This is a beautiful photo!

"No one is free when others are oppressed" is a thoughtful inscription on the photo.
